A Few Words about Us

Hello and welcome to our website!

The family-owned Wessex Outreach exam centre (number 00054) is a UK centre authorised by Cambridge English, part of Cambridge University.

We specialise in helping UK Schools, and school groups from overseas, by providing Cambridge English examinations.

Working exclusively with schools; Wessex Outreach makes students’ exam entry bookings, handles the logistics and delivery of exam materials, and runs live paper-based examination sessions at individual schools.

Our Centre exam staff are friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable about Cambridge English exams. Collectively we have many years of experience in education and exams organisation.

We are inspected regularly by Cambridge English and meet their high standards; and the Centre was rated as ‘Excellent’ upon inspection, on 10 June 2023.

Hopefully, you may want to offer Cambridge English Qualifications at your school and wish to explore the benefits of us working together.  Please take a look around the website for useful information and resources, and let me know if you have any questions.

I very much look forward to meeting you, to discussing our future opportunities together, and above all supporting your own work in helping students achieve their objectives in English and proving their skills to the world.

With best wishes,
Simon

How We’re Different From Other Centres

Wessex Outreach model to providing Cambridge exams

Make your enquiry

Wessex Outreach exam centre gives you access to paper-based Cambridge English examinations, provided directly within school to your international students sitting English exams.

Simply submit your booking request by email or use the enquiry form.

We do the difficult tasks

Our team works on your booking enquiry so that you have all the Cambridge exam options – dates, levels, prices, venue – clearly explained.

We can run particular test levels – especially the ‘for Schools’ versions of A2 Key, B1 Preliminary and B2 First exams.  Also, for Sixth Form students, C1 Advanced is a qualification of choice for entrance to British universities (as it does not expire).

Provide test sessions within Cambridge dates in term time.  Schedule Speaking tests for the same day as other papers, and conduct and invigilate Cambridge English exams within safeguarded school environments.  All our exam staff have a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) enhanced check.

Relationships worth counting

The best part is that we bring the exam session all to you on one day.  There are no hidden fees, setup costs, or extended contracts.

Wesex Outreach is always happy to forge long-lasting partnerships so that Cambridge English exams can become a regular feature in your school calendar.  This in turn gives you more kudos when promoting your International School to students, parents and agents.

We love our customers.

Find An Exam Centre

Traditional way of taking Cambridge exams

Find a provider

Go to the Cambridge Find an exam centre website and contact the nearest authorised exam centre to your school.  Enquire about availability of exam levels and test dates on offer.  These will vary.

If suitable, book your exams with the exam centre.  Develop a highly satisfactory relationship over time.

Pain points

How do you find exam dates which fit in with your academic year and term times?  Can you include the Speaking test on the same day as the other written exams?

How do you minimise the inconvenience of travel to an external Centre and venue?

What about the health and safety of your students and staff?

Will exam places be available again at the same time next year, for your continuity and ease of academic planning?

Extra work and extra hours

Contacting many different Examinations Centres to discuss what you need and what they can deliver is a time-consuming and complex exercise.

Transporting groups of teenage students to external exams is challenging and probably an inefficient use of your staff resources and vehicles.  Wouldn’t it be better if students could take exams in familiar surroundings?

Safeguarding may also be more difficult away from school premises.
